Meet Anne & Andy

Welcome to The English Pet, where every dog is treated like royalty! We’re Anne and Andy—a British countryside girl and a Southern California beach kid—who found each other, fell in love, and embarked on an unexpected journey together.

Our Story

Like many, our story took a twist during the global shutdown of COVID-19. We both worked as consultants for a British National Corporation, but as the world changed, we found ourselves “redundant”—laid off, but not without hope. With much risk and a lot of heart, we decided to follow our true passion, caring for dogs.

Anne, with her lifelong Love of Dogs, set out to create a tranquil, one-dog-at-a-time grooming experience where every pup leaves feeling pampered and loved. Meanwhile, Andy, with a background in fashion and apparel, brought his creative eye and entrepreneurial spirit to the table, asking What’s next?

Why Grooming?

For Anne, grooming isn’t just a service—it’s a calling. She envisioned a space where dogs could enjoy a calm, stress-free environment, receiving individualized attention and care. From gentle baths to meticulous blow-dries, Anne has created a sanctuary for dogs, ensuring that each one leaves looking and feeling their best.

From Grooming to Gastronomy

Our journey didn’t stop at grooming. Inspired by our own pups, William (an overweight bulldog) and Leo (with his ultra-sensitive stomach and fussy palate), Andy took on the role of household cook, crafting special meals to meet their unique needs. This experience sparked the creation of our Tip-Top Meal Mixers—fresh, small-batch toppers made with wholesome ingredients and no dodgy preservatives.

With the guidance of a pet food formulator and nutritionist, we fine-tuned our recipes, lab-tested them for quality, developed packaging that reflects our brand’s elegance, and partnered with a local commercial kitchen. Today, our range includes meal mixers, biscuits, and nourishing broths—all crafted with love and care.
